Maggie Lord is originally from Kingston Upon Hull, East Yorkshire. After moving to the Orkney Islands, Scotland, she founded Skaramanda Jewellery.
Inspired by the history, landscape and wildlife of the northern isles she produced a colourful range of hand made jewellery using a mixture of materials and painting techniques.
Maggie learnt her silversmithing techniques from a Sheffield silversmith resident on Orkney and began designing jewellery in silver and gold.
She now lives and works in Clydesdale, South Lanarkshire, Scotland where she continues to design and produce an ever changing range of silver, gold and colourful mixed medium art jewellery. 
Rings, bangles, brooches, pendants, earrings and kilt pins are create by hand piercing, chasing, etching, engraving and planishing.
Skaramanda’s colourful art jewellery is made from a mix of acrylic based materials including metallic lustres, pearlescent inks, metal leaf and acrylic paints.  Each piece is unique and signed by Maggie Lord.
